BDF Distributors Launches

CHICAGO - Hornbill Films and Big Dik Factory have partnered to launch BDF Distributors, a new distribution company that will specialize in "erotica and independent films," according to Joe Rubin, who will head the operation.

"We will not do hardcore male films," Rubin said. "This is already done superbly by the likes of Pulse and Paladin. We also are not interested in mainstream gay festival-like films that are currently handled by TLA, Wolfe and other smaller outfits. We are interested in the underdogs, the ones who can't find a voice in the mainstream market, the renegades and the rebels."

Rubin, 20, co-directed Live for Sex Die for Love, and his adventures in obtaining distribution for the film inspired the creation of BDF Distributors, he said.

"It is the only independent film that we own that has increased in sales since its initial release," he said. "It was interesting to see the figures climb without any advertising and promotion, and we hope we can do justice for other filmmakers who feel isolated and rejected while still holding a product that is worthwhile watching."

Although BDF has no website as yet, Rubin may be contacted via email.
