Aussie Magazine Credits Forest with Reforming Gay Porn

VAN NUYS, Calif. - "[H]e has helped transform the gay porn industry from a sleazy backyard endeavour to a refined business."

In a nutshell, that's Australian Rob Marshman's take on the career of American talent manager David Forest. Writing in the November issue of DNA - a sex, fashion, and lifestyle magazine for gay men - Marshman describes Forest as "more mini-mogul than agent" and "the David Geffen, Richard Branson, and Martha Stewart of gay porn.... He can make or break a star and, despite concerted efforts from various parties to bring him down, he remains too powerful to ignore.... [He's] an entrepreneur and rebel who has both defined and defied his own industry. He's a true adult industry survivor and destined to join gay porn history."

Marshman's article, "The Ringmaster," was a big hit with its subject, whose career Marshman said he has watched for years.

"I'm elated by this fabulous profile of my life," said Forest, who will turn 59 in December. "There have been many stories about me [during] the past decade, but ‘The Ringmaster' tells the tale in the best way I've ever had it told. It's great that a ‘back-countryman' and Australia's leading magazine for gay men would be the ones to shine the spotlight on me with such a glowing story."

Also, according to Forest, "‘The Ringmaster' is just the appetizer. A book deal is next."
