SOUTH PARIS, Maine - A new title in the Blacks on Daddies series and Rentboy's North American debut are available from All Boys Distribution.
Blacks on Daddies Volume 3 continues a line that surprised All Boys with its popularity, according to a spokesman for the distributor.
"We've actually had a lot of great response as well as orders and re-orders on the first two [in the series]," he said. Stores that passed on ordering them initially "may want to re-assess that decision, because they're selling very well, and in places I never thought they would."
According to the All Boys spokesman, Rentboy is new to the U.S. but has been a popular line in Europe.
"The Rentboy line is one of the most popular studios in all of Europe," he said. "They're considered to be one of the highest in regard to quality as far as both sex scenes and marketability. They've also printed posters for their titles, to support each title as they're released here. That's a huge help in getting attention for the line."
All Boys expects to see more studios adopting helpful promotional strategies during what some have called a sluggish economy.
"The people behind the Rentboy line are willing to follow direction in what's making videos successful, and not just looking for awards or high chart listings, which a lot of producers are still worried about," the spokesman said. "The market is getting tougher and tougher, and over the next couple of years, you're going to see a steady decline in DVD sales by studios that aren't taking an aggressive marketing campaign into the field."
Both titles are set for a May 20 street date.
