HILLSBOROUGH, NC - Adam Male has added the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network [GLSEN] to the list of charitable organizations to which it donates 25% of its profits from the sale of sex toys, DVDs and all other products.
GLSEN is a nationwide educational organization focused on ensuring safe schools for all students. Established in 1995, GLSEN envisions a world in which every child learns to respect and accept all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. The organization provides educational resources, public policy agenda, student organizing programs, research, public education and development initiatives.
"Promoting tolerance is important regardless of your sexuality," said Adam Male director of e-commerce Molly Fisher. "No one should have to live in fear because they are exploring and expressing themselves.
"After reading a story a few months back about a boy who was repeatedly teased, ridiculed and eventually killed by his classmates in a California school because he was expressing his sexual identity, we were reminded that tolerance education is vital to developing a culture where everyone can be healthy, happy, and safe," she added.
Adam Male is searching for additional charities that promote tolerance education in schools and local communities. Organizations interested in working with the company should contact Fisher.
Founded in 1997, Adam Male is a subsidiary of Adam and Eve. It distributes sex toys, bondage gear, adult DVDs and sex accessories for the gay market. A portion of each sale goes to charities, including those that promote HIV prevention and safe-sex education.
