Accused Slayer Uses Gay Porn As Defense

NEW YORK – A Brooklyn man is using the fact that he had gay porn on his computer as a defense that he did not commit a gay hate crime.

An NYPD computer-crimes expert testified in court that Anthony Fortunato, 21, had gay porn on his computer. Fortunato and a co-defendant, John Fox, 21, are accused of setting up a gay chat site to lure Michael Sandy to Plumb Beach, a popular hook-up spot for gay men. When Sandy was running from the two men, he was hit and killed by a car on the highway.

They have been charged with second-degree murder as a hate crime and first-degree attempted robbery as a hate crime. They face 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
