SAN FRANCISCO - Athletic Model Guild has embarked on a project that's just slightly outside the realm of "everyday porn." The studio announced Wednesday its next feature will be a documentary-style film with hardcore elements.
Rio will be the next release from AMG's hardcore line, AMG Brasil. The film, which recently entered post-production, is steeped in fantasy and reality, focusing on the lives of the models. Each is interviewed about his life in Rio de Janeiro and his sexual fantasies, which are played out for the camera.
AMG president Dennis Bell said Rio has been one of the most rewarding AMG Brasil productions to date.
"These interviews are completely authentic, which could have worked against us," Bell said. "I mean, when you're working without a script, things can get kind of messy, but these guys are so interesting, not to mention hot, that their interviews will get even the most jaded porn viewers going. I couldn't be happier with the end product."
Rio stars some of AMG's most popular models alongside four industry newcomers. Among the cast are 2008 GAYVN Award nominee Ricardo Onça, Marcelo Mastro (who appears in the August issue of Freshmen magazine), Carnaval cover boy Rick Garcia, Alex Frias and Jack Benelli. The studio's new discoveries include Rodolfo Guerra, Amaro Augusto, Aleff Pavanello and cover boy Bruno Camargo.
Bell compared the movie to the 2008 GAYVN Award-winning epic Amazônia.
"In terms of effort and accomplishment, Rio is every bit as spectacular as Amazônia," he said.
In contrast to Amazônia, the cast of Rio is made up of men who were born and raised in Rio de Janeiro. Bell stressed the authenticity of the film, pointing out there is something distinctly appealing not only about Cariocas (Rio De Janeiro natives), but about the city itself.
"Rio is such a gorgeous city, and the men here are not only the most beautiful men in the world, but they also have some really amazing stories to tell," Bell said. "This isn't one of those generic casting-couch features. It's a fascinating look at being a gay performer in the sexiest city on Earth."
