"A Rising Star" Screening, Premiere Party Set for L.A.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Ridgeline Films will roll out the red carpet for its debut title, A Rising Star, in a somewhat unconventional way: The company will screen the film throughout the evening of Oct. 27 at MJ's Bar. A release party will follow at 9 p.m. Nov. 2 at Eleven Lounge.

A Rising Star features producer/performer and Ridgeline chief executive officer Jason Ridge, Roman Heart, in his first role outside Falcon Studios, and Matt Cole 's farewell performance.

"I've been so busy putting together the movie and working on our follow-up, Beyond Malibu, I haven't been able to hang out with my friends, my fans, my supporters in a very long time," Ridge said. "This is just my way of thanking them for standing by me. No fire, no hoops - just me hanging with my friends and celebrating the launch of my new company. I hope to see all of my friends there."

A Rising Star - also starring Blu Kennedy (who will appear with Ridge at the release party), Marcos Justice, and Joe Strong - hits the streets on Nov. 5. A special three-hour extended version of the film is available for pre-order at the company's website.
