Treasure Island Media announced yesterday that its August 18 offer of free 2257 records-keeping counseling has received an overwhelming number of responses.
“Since posting our offer to help clarify the labyrinthine 2257 laws, we have been flooded with requests for help and information,” TIM's Paul Morris said. “There’s a lot of near-panic out there. In order to handle some of the more general questions, we’re setting up a website with a kind of basic handbook. We will also continue to make available one-on-one support for those companies and producers that need help or advice with specific issues. I’m even fielding some of the inquiries myself.
“In particular," he went on, "we want to help the smaller and newer companies so they can produce work that’s not only sexy and beautiful, but also absolutely legal. We want to make sure that not a single company or producer goes under or suffers unnecessary anxiety because of the changing, quixotic and — to be blunt — religiously-based anti-sex laws that are being foisted on the American public and the honest and hard-working adult entrepreneurs and artists.”
