1R Media, LLC, announced yesterday that it has released Blair Mason from his contractual obligations as an exclusive actor.
"After several weeks of negotiation, I feel it's in both parties' interests that Blair move on to being a free agent in this industry," said Afton Nills, director/ producer for twink-genre company 1R Media. Xtreme Productions, Lycan Films, and Sin City Twinks are other 1R brands.
Mason was signed by 1R in September 2006 and has filmed for Nills nearly every month since then. His two most recent movies for Xtreme are It's a Guy Thing and The Twink in Me.
According to Nills, Mason had expressed interest in working for other video companies, but rather than hold him to his contract, decided to release him. "I will not be the one that stands in an actor's way if they decide they wish to go another direction," Nills told GAYVN. "It is important to me that I maintain a good relationship with the people I work with, so I'm just doing what I can to assist him." Nills added that Mason will be filming his last movie for 1R this month.
"We send Blair off with much love and respect and wish only the very best for him and his career," said Nills. "He has great potential and a great look. Any studio would be lucky to work with Blair."
