NUDE SHOPPERS RAID STORE FOR FREE CLOTHES

Just as we told you last week: some naked Austrians risked a little frostbite to hit a store chain streaking Feb. 28 in hopes of winning $385 worth of free clothing if they entered the store in the raw. Nude Shoppers Storm Store for Free Clothes

Kleider Bauer had said last week said it would reward the first five strippers of the week at each of its 40 department stores as long as they streaked from the street as far as the checkout counter, Reuters says.

Austria is said not to be averse to showing it all off, and dozens of birthday-suited shoppers huddled outside the Klieder Bauer store on Mariahilfer, Vienna's main shopping street, waiting for the store to open.

Said one male stripper to Reuters, "I'm doing it for the sheer hell of it, not the money. People should be more open and not such prudes.''

And what of the nude shoppers who didn't make it among the first five? Reuters says they received consolation prizes of $35 and towels to cover up. And it didn't stop there - the Klieder Bauer promotion lasts until March 18.
