PHILADELPHIA - Video-on-demand company HotMovies announced Tuesday that it has hired JoAnn Ownbey as an account executive with its studio team in Portland, Ore.
After a two-year stint managing the office operations of video-duplication company New Age Conversions, Ownbey took a five-year break from the business to spend time at home with her family. However, she was eager to get back into the game when HotMovies called.
"It's great because I already have relationships with many content producers all over the world," Ownbey said. "It's a perfect segue. And aside from seeing and working with many old friends, I look forward to meeting and executing deals with a whole host of new people. It just couldn't be a better fit."
James Cybert, HotMovies' director of business development, said he was excited about the new hire.
"JoAnn is bright and fun and filled with determination," he said. "She works hard, and I know it will be an easy transition for her. The studio team has told me she's getting up to speed on everything quickly, and they expect very good things from her, as do I.
"It's nice to have another female voice on the studio side, and a very skilled one at that."
