COLUMBUS, Neb. – A local chapter of the ultra-conservative Catholic Daughters of the Americas have stepped up efforts in its 15-year battle against pornography by creating and distributing a line of WRAP (White Ribbon Against Pornography) merchandise.
“We’re not passing out the white cloth ribbons anymore,” Jo Sokol, chairman for the group’s WRAP committee, told the Columbus Telegraph. “This past year our group created the first White Ribbon Against Pornography car magnets, decals and lapel pins. Our purpose is to be involved in this campaign against pornography all through the year and not just during the official Pornography Awareness Week.”
The group caught the attention of the nationally recognized conservative group Morality In Media, Inc. which linked to its site.
“We started the idea of the car magnets, and now with the link on the Morality in Media website, we’ve already had contacts from people in 15 states asking for our products and for more information,” Sokol continued.
Proceeds from the sale of the WRAP merchandise will benefit Morality in Media and other groups dedicated to stamping out porn.
