Kama Sutra Holds 'Hottest Celebrity Couple' Contest

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Kama Sutra, a manufacturer of romance and intimacy products, has announced the results of its first "Hottest Celebrity Couple of the Year" contest.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were named the "Hottest Overall Couple" and "Hottest Parents."

Eva Longoria-Parker and Tony Parker were named the "Hottest Newlyweds," John Travolta and Kelly Preston were named the "Hottest Long-Lasting Couple," Tim McGraw and Faith Hill were named the "Hottest Entertainers," and David and Victoria Beckham were named the "Hottest Power Couple."

"We will be sending baskets to our hottest celebrities, so that they can really enjoy their Valentine's Day," said Beverly Pollington Sirjani, senior vice president of Kama Sutra. "We will also be inviting viewers to log on to our site throughout February and enter a contest to see what kind of lover they are."

Pollington Sirjani said celebrity couple Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman gave Kama Sutra products to their wedding guests in 2005.

Kama Sutra's web service manager, Shawna Taklender told AVN Novelty Business that Aguilera and Bratman were also nominees under the Hottest Power Couple category, but were beat out by the Beckham's by voters.

In addition to the baskets given to the celebrity couple winners, Kama Sutra had a Grand Prize VIP Winner, associated with its VIP online club, who will receive a gift basket of Kama Sutra products in time for Valentine's Day. The Grand Prize winner was selected from the VIP members who chose the winning Hottest Overall Celebrity couple, said Taklender.

The 35-year-old company held the online contest throughout January, allowing customers to vote through February 4.

Pollington Sirjani said the idea for the contest came from Kama Sutra's customers.

"Our customers have long asked us why we haven't developed a ranking for romantic pairings," she said. "As they point out ... we are probably uniquely qualified to know what makes a couple sizzle."

Kama Sutra plans to continue the "Hottest Celebrity Couple of the Year" contest as an annual event.
