Lavender Lounge Studios has launched Gay Porn Blog, a news Website aimed just as its name suggests.
"I've become a news junkie in the past few years, searching out anything that's of interest to the average gay man:- erotica, mainstream celebrities, style, event coverage, and things that I find weird, campy or funny," says Lavender Lounge's owner, Mark Kliem, who is also Gay Porn Blog's Webmaster. "I scour a variety of sources looking for interesting tidbits of information that amuse or titillate me. I love the idea of presenting it all in one place for others to enjoy."
Items will include new film and video releases, gay porn industry news, porn star gossip, Website links, and even porn history, with Kliem aiming to add new items every day, "like an online diary. The blog format is perfect because it's organized, easy to update, visual, and timely."
He's encouraging studios, performers, writers, directors, public relations people, agents, and adult Webmasters alike to think about contributing to the site, as well as doing some writing and reporting himself.
"Besides my salacious ramblings about homosexual pornography, I will be reporting on a variety of people, events, and observations of living in San Francisco, as well as my pithy commentaries about mainstream culture and the high art of camp," Kliem says. "This stuff is too good to keep to myself, I want others to enjoy it, too."
But he also wants to avoid what he calls the trap of getting too personal. "Nobody wants to read about what I had for breakfast," he continues, "but I am fortunate enough to get to go places and do things that other people envy. I want to share those experiences with others. Having a cult following of readers visiting regularly and posting their comments to the site will inspire me to do even more."
