Miko Wholesale Looking for Sales Reps

Miko Wholesale is
looking for new sales representatives to present its two newest product lines and
its flagship, Pretty Plugs.
"We are looking for reps with a proven track record of high
performance to call on adult stores with all our products, including the
stainless steel Pretty Plugs, the dog and baby shirts," stated owner Jeff
Gellman. "They were a huge success at the [ANE] show, people loved them, and we
have been getting orders for them all week."
One of the new lines unveiled at ANE is Miko's new adult-themed
Doggy Style Designs apparel-also
known as Tanks With Tudes-which seems to be gaining in popularity among adult
stores who are expanding their gift sections.
Debra Peterson, marketing director of Fairvilla Megastore in
Florida, told AVN Novelty Business
magazine the new line has done so well
in its Key West location that the company plans to carry the line in its two
other central Florida stores.
"First of all, Miko products work well for us," she
stated. "Their products are clever and unique. They have well-made products,
and the Doggy Style Designs fits right in with the character of our store, especially
in Key West, where the
environment is upbeat and gregarious. Not all pet stores will carry a dog shirt
with a rainbow or X-rated slogan, but in our store, customers can usually find
a human T-shirt to match one of Miko's doggy shirts as an up-sell."
Deborah Collier, sales director of Doggy Style Designs, agreed.
"A lot of the adult- themed dog shirts will not be found in your local pet
store," she explained. "Nearly 60 percent of all U.S.
households include at least one pet ... and there are 67 million pet dogs in America.
It makes all the more sense to capitalize on the opportunity by offering
something a little different for adult-store customers. Some stores carry
expressive human [T-shirts] for naughty adults, why not for dogs, too?"
Gellman also said that Miko is looking for sales reps who
already have a territory in North America or
overseas. "They should already have accounts that they can call on and not have
any competing products," he said. "This can either be a full-time or part-time
job. Travel would depend on the sales rep's territory. We are only looking for
reps that frequently go to the actual stores and don't just sit by a phone and
wait for orders, expecting a commission."
