These outstanding releases from 1995 (The [Sex] Player was voted Best All-Sex Film at the AVN Awards) have been given special treatment on DVD. In addition to the fine video and generally clean audio on both releases, each disc - like all Vivid DVDs - boasts more interactive features than any other discs currently available, including mainstream titles. Besides the "usual extras" such as interactive menus, chapter stops, still photos and previews found on many discs, Hawaii and The Sex Player feature multiple angles in most of the sex scenes, Internet access, interactive games, brief biographies of the Vivid Girls, and player compatibility worldwide.

On Hawaii (a video feature), we occasionally detected slight - and we do mean slight - pixelation of the image where shading was present or contrast was low. Sex Player, perhaps because of the film grain, fares better; regardless, the overall presentations are far superior to 1/2-inch videotape, and both discs should win over quality-conscious consumers to the adult DVD experience.
