A vignette-styled look at the sensuality of the female sex, Private Pleasures Of A Woman delivers some interesting slices of erotica without paying too much attention to storyline.

Basically, the film focuses on the fantasies and recollections of seven women.  Each woman gets to tell what turns them on, and eventually they either demonstrate or recall the experience in front of the camera.

In a way, then, this is True Confessions of the adult kind.

Sondra Elite, a statuesque brunette beauty, confesses that she’s bored with hubby’s persistent television watching during the weekends. So she fantasizes about having her next-door neighbor stud visit her living room and have sex with her. Another woman tells about desires from the back of a cab: she carries a suitcase filled with dildos around with her, and has named each one after her favorite stars. There’s a Robert Redford and a Richard Pryor, and so on.

Still, another woman recalls her first sexual experiences when she was a youngster.  It seems that her parents had a maid that was into flashing her dress up high.  She never got much cleaning done but she did enjoy the bald vagina of the youngster.  There’s also the girl who faints on purpose so her boss will revive her, and the older woman who undresses by the hot tub’s edge, hoping that her daughter’s young boyfriend will approach her.

There’s nothing really special about this movie, but it does have a universal charm that most women can relate to.  All have experienced this sort of fantasies, and it’s nice to see them acted out.  Even the more bizarre ones, like one in which a girl has sex with three of her ex-husbands – all of whom are wearing masks – are refreshing and well-handled.

The cast is a mixture of young women and older, more mature females, all of whom do a good job.  Among the standouts are Jill Flaxxon, Sondra Elite and Gigi Rigoletto as the divorcee.

Private Pleasures Of A Woman is filled with some nice, unassuming pleasures of its own.
