Taking "method" acting to extremes that would have Stanislavsky spinning in his grave, the producer of Making It Big shoot for the moon but just barely breach the atmosphere. This film asks us to believe that somewhere in Hollywood, there is a school for sexual tutoring that can turn a backwoods country girl into a silver screen queen. This idea is ludicrous as well as sexist, but since the creators of the movie hardly touch upon the theme anyway, it doesn't matter all that much.

So just sit back and watch our gal Cherry (Jacqueline Lorians) bounce from one encounter to another. After two bears of Do-Re-Mi, her vocal instructor becomes her oral coach, and a solid 60-second workout with acting teacher Paul Thomas turns into yet another exotic fracas. This never misses the eye of the school 'headmaster' Dolly, (Shawn Michelle) who catches it all on her closes circuit TV.

It's all fluff and nonsense, to be sure, but each segment is handled with competence at the very least, and sometimes it even gets hottest than you might expect.

As Cherry, Jacqueline Lorians projects cracker stupidity perfectly. And the rest of the cast are seasoned pros, who perform with their usual Californian gusto (laid back, that is).
