One of the benefits of home video is that you can enjoy adult films in the privacy of your home, and not in the presence of rather questionable patrons at some downtown dive masquerading as a movie theatre. A stalwart of such porn houses, 8 and 16mm loops were the equivalent of "B" movies; shot very quickly and on the cheap. As the adult video market expanse, most of these old loops have become readily available, allowing us to see now popular stars in less-than-glamorous productions.

As one of the best compilations of old loops this reviewer has seen, the first volume of the Erotica Collection features five stags of surprisingly good quality. The first one, Desiree's Dilemma, has not only Desiree (Pretty Peaches) Cousteau, but a young John Leslie, to boot. In this segment (the tape's best), Desiree gets collared, chained, and basically dominated, all in a rather rough twenty minutes. Unfortunately, she does not get an enema.

As for the other loops, there is an emphasis on oral sex and threesomes. While not up to the quality of Desiree's Dilemma, they all have a fast and furious physical play. Those searching for plot line and character development are directed elsewhere. But, for anyone who likes their sex films minus studs and nymphos straining to be Meryl Street, old loops and the Erotica Collection won't let you down.
