Veronica (Leslie Bovee) is a "good girl" from the Midwest trying to make a career in New York City. When thins get touch, and her repressed sexual desires rise too close to the surface, she calls upon her imaginary alter ego, "Ronnie", to act out her boldest fantasies. This schizo technique works well enough for a while, until her boyfriend (Eric Edwards) tires of being turned down, and rapes her.

This closes Vee's mind completely to satisfying sex, and stokes the mental fire for Ronnie to act out even more bizarre wish-fulfillments. As if her problems weren't bad enough, Vee has to content with a charming couple next door (Samantha Fox and Bobby Astyr), who delight in cocaine and sex orgies. Soon she finds herself trapped between two worlds; the exotic, kinky place where Ronnie gets off, and the "real world", where Vee has fallen in love with the coke dealer, of all people!

Blue Ectsasy has a lot going for it, and the main reason is director Kemal Horulu. He has a way with actors that makes even the most mundane dialogue seem spontaneous, and also has a terrific eye for visual composition. This movie sports a cast of true porn veterans . . . faces I never wanted to see again because of overexposure. Although Leslie Bovee is hardly an inspired choice for leading lady, Horulu turns it all around, and has crafted a clever adult fairy tale that suffers only from minor plot complications that do not resolve themselves as easily as they appear.
