The incorrigible, dare-to-be-different Al Goldstein, of Screw Magazine fame, has brought his unique brand of humor and sex to the adult video market in the form of Screw Video Magazine Number One.  And it really isn’t bad.

A little bit like “60 Minutes” and “20/20,” this 80-minute video follows a television magazine format.  There is some high-quality, raunchy sex, clips from the year’s best films, and some informative documentaries, all of which combine to provide the viewer with stimulating entertainment that can’t be found in other adult videos.

One of the video’s better parts is the interview of adult film star Kay Parker.  Goldstein, the host of the show, is not the greatest interviewer, but Parker handles herself quite well and shows the audience a side of herself that gets lost in her film roles.  Unfortunately, other video magazines have also interviewed Kay, so the material is somewhat typical.

Goldstein says this is the first of many more videos, and he promises that the next one will be 10-times better.  The first improvement he should concentrate on is in his own delivery of the monologue.  Reading off a hand-held note pad, Goldstein is stiff and forced, making the bad jokes that much worse.  He does do a good job of introducing the different segments; seemingly more comfortable to divulge information rather than try and make us laugh.

Overall, Screw Video Magazine has the possibility of providing a different type of entertainment to the adult viewer.  People who are looking for a change from the standard feature films, but who do not want to sacrifice much erotic stimulation, might give Screw Video Magazine: Number One a try.
