Not unlike the Swedish Erotica series, all of the Japanese Erotica tapes are about an hour long. Unlike S.E., Japanese Erotica SEEMS to go on for hours. Watching one of these tapes (let alone two in one night) is virtually intolerable.  This is viewing recommended only to the porn diehard or those absolutely in need of watching Oriental sex.

Sex Stewardesses attempts to tell the story of two women who serve coffee by day and fly by night.  The key word in the above sentence is attempt.  Talent Scout (no talent here) supposedly documents the filmmakers recruiting a woman for their production.  Halfway through, the lady they “hired” suddenly decides she can’t do it, only to continue after her salary is doubled.  Oh well, I guess everyone has a price.

Since these tapes are produced underground in Japan, they are plagued by grainy stock and unattractive performers.  There is obviously truth to the distributor’s claim that these are illegal.  But with difficult to read subtitles and little eroticism, we’re going to have to hope that someone can come above ground with Japanese Erotica.
