Originally made for The Playboy Channel, Love Scenes is an erotic drama that will remind viewers of Blake Edwards' S.O.B. — if it were directed by Just (Emannuelle) Jaeckin.

The film stars B-movie fave Tiffany Boiling (Bonnie's Kids, Marriage Of A Young Stockbroker) as a pretty actress looking to make a comeback in Tinseltown. Her husband, a Hollywood director, has decided to use her in his next opus — a sexually explicit drama that calls for many risque, erotic scenes. The actress balks at first, but soon finds herself enjoying the making of the movie when she gets turned on by her handsome co-star. This presents a problem for her now-jealous hubby who was at first gung-ho about his wife appearing in the flick. And it presents a problem for his wife as well, for she's feeling sexier than ever before.

Although leisurely paced, Love Scenes should please those seeking a softcore outing with intelligence. Featuring a score that appears to have come out of a bad French melodrama. Love Scenes is a story filled with nifty caricatures of the movie business world played by actors at home in those "Whatever Happened To?" books. Comic Jack Carter is a cigar-chomping producer, while Julie Newmar and Britt Ekland play pretty behind-the-scenes types.

However, it's Boiling's film all the way. A strawberry blonde now approaching 40, her age has added a certain graceful sensuality. She's a knockout, turning her husband's sexual advice, then unknowingly turned it against him. Director Bud Townsend (The Beach Girls) captures Boiling's impressive body, which the actress is obviously not afraid to display. Especially surprising is an orgy sequence that almost takes the movie into the "X" category.

In the dramatic department, Love Scenes is no Out Of Africa. However, it's a decent erotically charged drama. And these days, sometimes that's enough.
