Director Blake Edwards once again shows us a man in middle age crisis, this time John Ritter. He plays a Hollywood writer who gets caught cheating by his wife, and then it's splitsville. Ritter goes from one woman to another or should I say one midadventure to another. The funniest scene has Ritter in the clutches of his ex-girlfriend Julianne Phillips who works at a spa. She puts him through electric shock treatments. What follows is priceless. Ritter is excellent at physical comedy, and don't miss when he brings home a female body builder. There is also a glow in the dark condom scene which was the rage when the film was released theatrically. The film falls flat, however when Ritter gets serious. I guess it's hard to care for his character, a drunk and shameless skirt chaser.
The women are all beautiful, the nudity is kept to a minimum, and the sex scenes are erotic. Not vintage Edwards, but not a bad comedy. Retailers should achieve success with this film.
