Reviews

Okay, let’s “do the plot thing” first.  A Brooklyn pizza parlor was the setting for Do The Right Thing, not a college sorority here; that was School Daze.  But we can forgive that.  And as far as “doing the star thing,” Heather Hunter only appears in two scenes, with the lion’s share of screentime going to co-star Julianne James (by the way, just what is James doing in a black sorority, anyway?).  Since Julianne’s also very cute, we’ll forgive that one, too.

In spite of the above caveats, I do give a moderate approval to Screw The Right Thing.  A carnal campus romp that pits the gals of Tri-Alpha house against a prudish dean, the video does boast fine sexual performances from the female leads, and stars Hunter and James amply demonstrate why they’re two of the hottest young talents around.  While the feature never seems to find the right momentum, the closing all-girl quartet is a well-played, well-shot scene that discriminating femme-watchers will enjoy.  Production values here show the continuing progress that Vidway has made in recent years, and Hunter’s picture on the box is, as always, to die for.  There’s not too much that’s unique here, but viewers who try it will have “done the right thing.”
