Beautiful Charlotte Lewis began her career in Roman Polanski's Pirates and then went on to star with Eddie Murphy in The Golden Child. Now she is back in Europe in this thriller with a horror twist. Without knowing it, Lewis uses her phone to unleash a strange power which causes people who are close to her to commit suicide. The power is closing in on her and unless she can stop it she will be next.
The unusual storyline of Dial Help holds interest though the film suffers from sluggish pacing. This may hamper the story's movement, but the production qualities are fine. Some of the smokey blue and black sequences contribute to the eerie mood and are beautifully done. Much of the gore and sensuality is cut off too quickly. But there is one fairly long dynamite bathtub sequence featuring Lewis that is packed with teasing sex and brief nudity.
