In a future where economic collapse and ozone depletion have rendered much of the United States a parched wasteland, a dashing young adventurer (Ganus) and a bevy of bouncing babes hole up in a deserted TV station to ride out a particularly nasty (thermal-storm." Before you can say Alien, the unfortunate ozone-phobes soon find they are getting picked off one by one by a renegade android that lurks among them.
Director Charles Band's follow-up to his lust-driven Meridian is almost as erotically charged (although the inherent carnality of the female cast is sometimes overshadowed by the film's rather graphic violence.) Larue, McClellan and Armstrong are three of the most tantalizing brunettes to grace the B-movie screen in quite some time, while feisty blonde Megan Ward brings just the right touch of innocence to her role as the shy tomboy who ends up saving the day.
Smoothly directed by genre specialist, Crash and Burn is worth a look for fans of erotic science-fiction and B-movie raunch.
