Oy, what a feeling? Kandyland is the movie hybrid of Flashdance and Stripper.

Poor Joni (Kim Evanson). Her job at the dry cleaners is miserable, her boyfriend isn't sure he wants to marry her and her life is basically dull. That is until she wanders into the neighborhood strip club, Kandyland, one night. She becomes fascinated with the headline act - get this -Harlow Divine (Sandahl Bergman), and asks Harlow to help her become an erotic gyrator. Of course, Harlow obliges, and before you know it, sweet, little naive Joni is transformed into - va-va-va-voom – Lotta Love, topless and not-so tiny dancer.

Ah, but that's not all folks. Although Kandyland seems like a classy dance joint at first sight, it's populated by all sorts of seamy characters. There's the alcoholic comic whose biggest problem may be that he looks too much like Gallagher; there's the violent, druggie bartender; there's the hot-headed crippled owner. Then there's Harlow, who happens to be a former junkie, and Joni's boyfriend, who can't accept her bucking the, er, trend.

Evanson is a blonde, perfectly shaped beauty who will remind you of a perfect woman developed if you cross-pollinated Meg (Innerspace) Ryan and porn star Ginger Lynn. She only loosens her straps in one scene; the rest is tease. The film's other nudity comes in the form of rather coolly choreographed erotic dancing by the other Kandyland denizens. There's a Cher clone, a black beauty and a redhead. Lookin' good, dancin' fair. And then there's Sandahl Bergman, who looks like a peroxide Angelica Huston. She's Meryl Streep to this cast, but remember, it is to this cast only.
