Space can't begin to allow for more than a cursory assessment of the nudie nostalgia material contained on these new releases from Something Weird Video.  But if you took our recommendations from several issues back where we first previewed this series, you won't be disappointed with these volumes, either.

As far as I can tell, none of these glamour loops from the 1940's, 50's and 60's has ever appeared in other mail order catalogs and collections.  When you consider the fact there's over 12 hours of footage assembled here from three and four-minute loop segments, and when you also consider the sizable amount of material already on the market, that's a phenomenal record defying the law of averages.  I will draw your attention to Volume 6 which has the highest concentration of vintage indoor and outdoor black and white featurettes.  These are absolute treasures, and like wine, they only get better with time.  Take note of the background music.  From "Harlem Nocturn" to twist music soundtrack for recreating the era of sleaze.

Something Weird is continually on the search for archive cheesecake, and I applaud their efforts to bring the collector in touch with this beloved genre.

Their catalog is quite sizeable for a mail order company and features long-forgotten horror films from the 1940's, nudie films, schlock films, vintage female wrestling, and collections of the tackiest movie trailers ever made.  Also be on the look-out for their new three-volume collection of "Twisted Sex" nudie trailers from the 1960's. Over six-hours in running time, they're a complete treasure until themselves.
