This is a feature that’s more fried than Kentucky Fried Movie – a format that Drive-In Matinee borrows liberally from, and, in just about all cases, achieves high-water for clever tastelessness.
Some of the bit may be overextended, like the bogus commercial for “The Columbia School of Pornology” – a satirical look at porndom, but the humor is devilishly on target thanks to a lot of painstaking editing (legitimate film and video clips are reworked to the cutting edge).
Actor Leslie Howard is probably rolling over in his grave thanks to a rollicksome assassination of Of Human Bondage which bastardizes the dialog into a tale concerning Howard’s mini penis. The storyline has to make the Guinness Book for most schlong euphemisms. Nudity, bad puns (like the convert to Judaism – featuring a Judy Garland clip) and other freeforms of insanity abound. Bring your sense of humor when watching Drive-In Matinee.
