Say what you will.  When it comes to promotion, Playboy has its act together: newstand (the April issue), TV (Entertainment Tonight), and video (the Girls of Spring Break) theme has been all over the place.

In this latest profile of la dolce vita - obviously, the one that you and I aren't enjoying - Jeff Cohen, the magazine's managing photo editor, serves as the let's-get-this-bozo-off-camera-and-have-a-look-at-the-babes-host.  Cohen and his beard are able but no match for a bare ass.

We get a gander at nature's wonderlands - those colorful mecca(s) of spring saturnalia - Palm Springs, Daytona, Ft. Lauderdale, South Padre Island, where guys get drunk and girls take off their tops, girls tape off their tops and girls take off their tops (and an occasional bottom).  Playboy has certainly developed a technique over the years.  They have managed to take nudity and remove every vestige and amount of prurience from it, that it would not come as a surprise to find one of these shows landing on PBS.  This is a good candidate.

Discounting looks and figure which all playmates have as a given, rarely does one come across the camera with the smoldering appeal of Julie Clarke who ignites forest fires the same way Annette Bening does in The Grifters.  Clarke has you on the verge of jumping into your TV set.  Her nude studies in this tape are objects of sheer rapture and art and probably the best 20 minutes the format has ever devoted to one particular girl.  By the time you get to the profile of Stacy Arthur, a former Mrs. Ohio, you're spent.
