Not to be confused with another mainstream film called Crush, The Crush is a noteworthy entry for the smoldering performance lent by Alicia Silverstone, who plays a 15 year-old Lolita named Darian who develops an unhealthy fixation on magazine writer, Gary Princess Bride, Men in Tights Elwes.

Silverstone, who reminds you of Drew Barrymore (but far prettier and sexier), plays the sexpot role with a squirming edge as Elwes' character gets fed to the lions. As a border in Darian's parent's house, Elwes winds up in an untenable position as Darian orchestrates his downfall when he resists her constant advances.

The nudity is kept to a minimum (obviously a body double in Silverstone's strip/bathing scene), and Jennifer Rubin (as Elwes' co-worker/girlfriend) gets to sit on the other side of the psychotic table for a change. Fans of Kurtwood Smith, who plays one of screendom's finest pricks (Dead Poets Society, Robocop and The Fortress) plays Silverstone's dysfunctional father.
