More of a navel-contemplating remake rather than a true sequel, Sex 2 treads the tender "couples" market, beginning as a drama about Mike Horner's sexless lifestyle (he's reading "The Joys of Abstinence") and then turning into a comedic farce; where gorgeous women are virtually crawling out of his woodwork.

Tom Byron, the catalyst, is an office-buddy of Horner, who's a real shy guy. Byron arranges a hot date with Nikki Dial for his horny friend, subsequently showing up at Horner's house to scarf some dinner and sweep Dial away. Concurrently, a subplot featuring P.J. Sparxx finds her seducing her husband's boss (Rocco Siffredi) in order to snag him a promotion. The intercut Byron/Dial and Sparxx/Siffredi team-ups form a gargantuan, thirty-minute mise-en-scene that both knocks the viewer's socks off, and also stops the story cold, padding it out interminably.

Yes, it's a left-handed compliment, but true. The sex is terrific, and Dial has never looked better as she 69's, rides cowgirl, and finally takes a mouthful of Byron's love load. Sparxx also lights up the screen with a marvelously seductive liaison on top of a grand piano, taking Rocco's rocket doggie-style as he smacks her butt. Yet by the next scene, Horner is literally juggling Christy Canyon, Crystal Wilder and Nikki Dial between bedroom, kitchen and den. Of course the ending is a foregone conclusion, but a juicy one, with a delicious four-way ending in a triple blowjob.

The story does tie together, but it makes you wonder why the sub-plot was there, except as a device to create the sex. Though it certainly could have used more of Dial's presence in her farewell feature, Sex 2 delivers the carnal goodies, and the cinematography looks honey-dipped. This should do well for the refined adult crowd; Nikki Dial on the cover and the success of the prequel will help.
