Can this be another college spring break movie originating from Ft. Lauderdale?

One of a hallowed lineage of beach flicks that had its seminal roots with the relatively modest (sexually speaking) Where The Boys Are, Can It Be Love is a distinct credit to its race - a race that has gotten a tad racier with nudity, thanks to pay TV for which films like these are now being specifically targeted.

Getting beautiful babes to bare their assets is the order of the day in Can It Be Love.  It starts off with two college dweebs, David and Tim (Charles Klausmeyer and Richard Beaumont) heading for fun in the sun with the intent of scoring with the socially unattainable Delta Pi girls.  The boys stop to help a damsel in distress named Lisa and this touches off a series of improbable events, not the least of which finds them being enlisted by an independently wealthy lady P.I. (naturally, she seduces both of the guys) to hunt down an heiress to a $300 million skateboard empire.

Can It Be Love borrows a classic nudie flick plot device from the 1960's wherein the heiress-in-question bears a distinct birth mark.  The "detectives" (in this case, with the help of a brainy computer expert and probably the best looking babe in the bunch) have to devise a clever scheme to ge the list of female suspects to strip.  The guys come up with a fashion shoot idea, and the old two-way mirror in the dressing room gag.  Naturally, one of the other scenes features a close-circuit camera (Revenge of the Nerds) set up in a ladies' locker room.  This is the hottest segment of the film.

Can It Be Love has scores of pretty girls, beach scenes, lots of mondo Ft. Lauderdale spring break events (a pretty good wet T-shirt contest in progress); a series of all too convenient coincidences, and a nice helping of bare butts and bottoms to make this one of the better beach flicks.  If you enjoy drooling over luscious young hardbodies, this is the film.
