Ever see a movie-within-a-movie and find the "within" plot to be a zillion times more interesting? Such is the case here, as film archivist Michelle Mclntosh discovers old porno footage of a contemporary male TV star lost within her dusty bins. (Note: the loop contains a boob-flashing Taylor Wane.) How fascinating a movie it would have been to follow the reactions of said star, and a devious cover-up perhaps, rather than the tedious mystery that Secret Sins attempts to spin.

The scenario creates a gaggle of co-workers so obnoxious that when Michelle finds herself set up when the film is stolen, you'd wish she would just run into the office like a disgruntled postal worker and let fly with an automatic rifle, ending everyone's misery — including the viewer's, who is subjected to a stultifying romantic sub-plot that reveals a single wide shot of Michelle's naked tits before a quick dissolve to cloying post-coital dialogue written with a cauliflower ear for the obvious.

From this point on Secret Sins is virtually unwatchable, and will remain so until it (ever) gets raked over the coals on "Mystery Science Theater 3000" on the Comedy Channel. Aside from Mclntosh, who can at least pick up a phone and pretend that she's listening, the cast is strictly amateur night; the cinematography just this side of a super-8 movie; and the whole affair lacking in erotica, imagination and general competency.
