Another frustrating venture in the world of alternative adult —a good-looking, reasonably well-acted, definitely sensuous production that lacks any speck of originality whatsoever. The certainty that you've seen all this before, and much better, undermines the effort as a whole.

The lovely slim blonde Jodie Fisher is your basic rich, spoiled, bored housewife, and Richard Abbott is your basic insensitive, cheating, golfing, lawyer husband. The plot is your basic cheating/divorcing/double-crossing/insurance money scenario —and the twists thrown in are so familiar and predictable, they barely qualify as bends, let alone twists. The portrayal of a bored central character is accurate, and therefore boring. The exercises into sensuality —the home sex videos, the naked drowning dream, the coupling with the sucker boyfriend —lack an edge of sexual obsession that might have made Fisher's character more interesting. Not her fault, nor the director's, but not really a weak script, just a familiar one. The sexual highlight is the scene where another bored friend of Jodie's makes it with the golf pro, but even this is marred by cliches like ice cubes, fruit, and bad porn-style music. There is a truly great erotic film due from this company soon, with the money and talent available, and the kind of commitment to quality product they show, but this isn't it.
