Writer-director Albers may have set Mind Games in the ambiance of a college campus, but the script wouldn't even pass the rigorous screening process of an Inspector Gadget cartoon.
The film's saving grace is a constant parade of attractive women, beginning with the always-popular Maria Ford and her constantly exposed B-cups. She plays grad teacher Brian Krauses' ex-lover/suicide victim, and she also plays the lover's sister, who's trying to drive Krause crazy by appearing as a horny ghost.
The poor pedagogue wanders around campus encountering the "apparition," making softcore contact with the netherworld, and generally wondering why student Soleil Moon Frye keeps throwing herself at him. To what end you might ask yourself (again and again)?
Frye plays her role with a touch of appealing naive sexuality, thespically mopping up the floor with the rest of the cast. But her sole reason to exist is to keep Krause on the edge of an incriminating sexual harassment subplot which never pays off in any appreciable nudity.
The real reason Ford keeps cropping up as the topless phantom is to (get this!) aid Krause's current lover Raina Paris with a friggin' plot for her upcoming mystery novel! With Ed Wood-worthy "twists" like this, Mind Games could play for unintentional laughs. But with the presence of a trio of attractive babes, we suspect you won't be laughing too hard.
