These films are, quite simply, gems. As the title suggests, they contain footage from decades past, and include a surprisingly broad range of sex. Anal sex, threeways, girl/girl, and interracial sex are more abundant in these films than palm trees in Florida.

The sheer intimacy shared by the men and women is stunning, an aspect clearly missing from most of today's porn. The fact that every single girl has a smile on her face during and after sex is enough to eventually inspire a grin on the face of the viewer.

As this material was shot on film many moons ago, the picture is very grainy, yet this condition makes the artistic impact of the film that much more powerful. The absence of sound (music is dubbed into the tape) is likewise a benefit for the same purpose.

Most of the performers in this series appear to be amateurs (intentionally), but one may occasionally recognize a familiar face. Jamie Gillis and Ron Jeremy appear in the first tape; the experienced porn viewer will get very nostalgic watching them.

The simplicity of the films is their strength. The no-frills camerawork and film quality would make these tapes perfect victims for the reviewing ax, were they made recently. But the context of the period in which they were made is vindication enough. The porn industry was still in its infancy, and the resources available would be quite limite. It is also important to understand the attitudes towards sex at the time. The men and women featured are enjoying sex with a vengeance, and their enjoyment of each other is as much a political statement as it is a show of love for the human race.
