Gotta love those box cover copywriters. For Marylin Starr, her role here (as a black widow-ish husband-killer) is a "career-defining" performance. And Web of Deception is "one of the most exciting X Videos in some time period." What would that be, lunch hour?
As you can well surmise, writer/director Carrelli has attempted to graft sex onto a mainstream story; a mistake that no production company has escaped no matter how many times we point out what a fruitless exercise it is.
The result is (how startling!) a tediously convoluted plot populated by cardboard clichés: the tireless detective, the star reporter, the shady lawyer, etc. Toss in some highly inept acting, and it's no wonder where the energy went. It should've gone into hot sex.
Starr has a fairly engaging anal encounter with Valentino, and Alex Sanders and Jeanna Fine almost look like they're enjoying themselves.
