Ed Powers is on to something here, and he may have discovered a talent of his own stature in Tee. This is the first in what Powers says will be a series of am/gonzo lines directed by women. Maybe not a wholly original idea, but nonetheless a Good Idea. It's an Outstanding Idea, in fact.

Tee takes the reins in this first installment of the First Impressions line, and the result is very promising. A woman's touch, and, not incidentally, Tee's own native talents, set a unique tone throughout each of the four segments featured here. Not present is the predatory undertone distinguishable beneath so much of the "great, now bend over so we can see that butt" banter which characterizes much male-produced gonzo. In Tee's nurturing hands, the ladies and gents featured here pop right out of their shells and into some mesmerizingly unslick (and so, wildly enjoyable) on-screen fuckin'.

The character of the presentation is reminiscent both in its technical and erotic aspects of Powers' early work; work, some have argued, which was superior in important ways to  his current projects. On the downside, there is, for example, the sometimes too-hot lighting, the shaky camera and the no-frills sets which were hallmarks of early Dirty Debs shows, and which, one imagines, will disappear as Tee gains experience. But there is also a jittery realism to her work and a sense that in front of Ms. Tee's camera anything can happen, and whatever it is, it'll be horny and lots of fun.
