Imma Youjo is one of the best hentai series we've seen ... well, since the last two times this series was released. Critical Mass's new DVDs are welcome reissues though: The transfers are great, and a new generation of fans gets to experience some great titles.

While each of these volumes takes place in a new time and setting, the common link is the beautiful creature Maya. Like the Loc-Nar in Heavy Metal, Maya is only used as a way to connect the otherwise unrelated plots.

Volume three, Venomous Beauty, is set during the feudal period of Japan. Two men meet on the road and travel together through the woods to a supposed palace inhabited by demons. Along the way, they come across Maya being brutally raped by a giant barbarian. After rescuing her, she takes them to her princess for a celebratory dinner ... inside the cursed palace.

Retailing: The series is going strong with near Mayazaki quality (or as close as hentai can come to it).
