Leave it to Axel Braun to get the porn version of a major Hollywood blockbuster on the street before said blockbuster even hits theaters. That's right, The Avengers XXX saw its DVD debut May 1, a full three days before Joss Whedon's big screen epic began smashing box office records.

Of course, without an already released source upon which to draw, that meant Braun and co-screenwriter Mark Logan had to concoct their own original story, and in so doing, they added a few things sure to please comic fans aplenty: Namely, the characters of Ms. Marvel, Sharon Carter, the Scarlet Witch, She-Hulk, Spider-Man and Spider-Woman (in a bonus scene) all join the party here, making this version a hell of a lot sexier than it would have been had they stuck to the mostly male ensemble of Whedon's.

The movie is essentially an origin story, centering around Nick Fury (a fantastic Lexington Steele, getting a chance to flex his acting chops without the hindrance of the Darth Vader mask he donned for Braun's Star Wars XXX) gathering together the Avengers in order to subdue and out-of-control Hulk (Jordan Lane), who's wreaked havoc in Las Vegas.

Given that Braun and company obviously had tremendous time constraints to get this out on schedule, certain elements may seem to lack the polish one would typically expect from an Axel Braun production—but always maintaining the ultimate savvy, they work explanations for this into the script. For example, when Hawkeye (Eric Masterson) cracks wise about the dinginess of the Avengers' hideout, Fury retorts that the whole point is to stay "low-key."

But enough about all that ... let's talk about the sex already (especially since it makes up the great majority of the movie's running time). Things get off to a bang-up start with a boy/girl between Hawkeye and Black Widow (reigning AVN Best New Starlet Brooklyn Lee looking mouthwatering in dark crimson hair and skin-tight black leather). What with Phoenix Marie in the role of Carter, it almost goes without saying that she brings anal to the table in her spirited scene with Fury.

We also get She-Hulk (Chyna) and Thor (Brendon Miller in the movie's standout performance) bumping uglies, plus a randy romp between Spidey (Xander Corvus reprising his role from Braun's multiple AVN Award-winner Spider-Man XXX) and Ms. Marvel (Lexi Swallow, looking sensational as ever).

The real showstopper of the bunch, though, has to be the lesbian liaison between Ms. Marvel (interesting that Swallow is the only girl who gets two scenes, incidentally) and the Scarlet Witch (the gorgeous and tremendously underused Danni Cole). It is a lick sesh to be savored many times over.

Relegated to the second disc is a bonus scene with Spider-Woman (Jenna Presley) and Thor (for some reason played here by Evan Stone).

The Avengers XXX: A Porn Parody has already done numbers in the adult realm that relatively correlate with those of its mainstream counterpart in that sector. Expect those numbers to just keep skyrocketing.
