Our press release on Piracy brought about mixed comments. Many in the industry were pleased that we were addressing an issue that is of importance to the adult entertainment community. However, some were less than pleased and a little confused as to why FSC would address something other than a pure first amendment issue like 2257.

While inspiring, our name the Free Speech Coalition can sometimes be a bit misleading. The Free Speech Coalition is the trade association for the Adult Entertainment Industry. Our mission is to: Lead, protect and support the growth and wellbeing of the adult entertainment community. Clearly we fight vehemently against government intrusion into the industry protecting yours and consumers’ first and fourth amendment rights, but that is but a portion of what we do. We work to educate members about issues facing the industry. We help find solutions to common business issues like insurance and benefits. We lobby in California and the nation’s capital to prevent unfair taxation and restrictive legislation. We look for economies of scale to provide discounts to members for business related expenses like travel and software. And, when a complicated issue like piracy compromises our industry’s success, we thoughtfully and strategically address the issue. FSC—we are more than a one trick pony.
