Over 10% of the nation's adult cabarets have disappeared

Mike Ross reports: "After several weeks of intensive work, the ultimate adult entertainment business list is just about complete, and producing amazing statistics. The number one statistic is that over 10% of the Nation's cabarets have gone out of businesses for one reason or another.

"We're compiling the largest, most complete and accurate list of adult businesses in the country," and are using it to organize, educate, fundraise and fight back against governmental intervention. The list only contains businesses that are protected by the 1st Amendment (meaning no escorts, massage, prostitute, body rub or lingerie businesses are included).

"For the last month, we've had a phone bank calling America's adult business to collect information. To find them initially, we combined several recognized lists (from the Internet to the yellow pages) and started calling. When finished, the list will be larger than Exotic Dancer Magazine's, more accurate than The Ultimate Strip Club List, and wider in scope than AVN's.

"Starting this week, the phone bank will be calling for political and financial support, and we urge you to ANSWER YOUR PHONE AND HELP US! The phone bank has gathered a lot of information, and has found that in the last year, over 10% of the Country's Cabarets phones are no longer in service. We interpret that to mean that they have gone out of business.

"We don't know why they've closed, but they have, and we presume it's from excessive governmental regulation or excessive litigation. Other information indicates that owners also don't want to be considered part of the XXX industry, and if given a choice in choosing whom they want to represent themselves politically, they choose other owners, not the united "xxx adult entertainment industry and "non 1st amendment causes.
