Vivid's Porn Star Ball tour featuring legendary electronic music deejay Donald Glaude and a "Dress Like Your Favorite Porn Star" contest hits Los Angeles Saturday night.
The tour features two headlining deejays, Glaude and trance deejay Christopher Lawrence, who alternate each week in some of the top nightclubs in the nation. And of course, there are the Vivid Girls as well.
Vivid Girls Sunrise Adams, Dayton, Heather Hunter, Cheyenne Silver, Kira Kener, Mercedez, and special guest former Vivid girl Tori Welles will attend the event that will be held at The Factory in West Hollywood.
Also spinning will be Steve Castro, Franco Munoz and DJ Ruff.
Each night of the tour, $1000 in prize money is given out for the "Dress Like Your Favorite Porn Star" contest. The first-place winner receives $700 and two runner-ups win $150 each.
"Less is best," recommends Vivid marketing director Bobby Fresh to contest aspirants.
Some women have worn thongs and pasties, while others have taken it all off. The last contest had fifteen women competing.
"The contest ran a little longer than we wanted to. The audience had problems deciding who winners were. There were three of them they all liked," Fresh said.
Vivid is taping content from each the events and compiling a documentary-style video to sell as an "R"-rated DVD in mainstream outlets.
The two previous dates of the tour were both sold-out events. In Chicago, over 2500 attended the event while approximately 1500 attended the St. Louis event, leading to five additional dates, including one in Hawaii.
Both Power 106 and KCRW will promote the event with interviews this week.
