Comcast Pressured to Sign Cuomo's Child Porn Code
The Internet service provider will join others in signing agreement.

ALBANY, N.Y. - After learning New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo planned to take action if they didn't sign his agreement to end access to child pornography, Comcast officials say they will join in.
The nation's second-largest ISP is expected to sign the agreement soon.
Cuomo's child porn code calls for major ISPs to take steps to remove newsgroups that contain child pornography, as well as clear their servers of websites featuring child pornography.
Comcast earlier this month joined other cable operators and 48 state attorneys general in signing a separate agreement on preventing child pornography.
Other ISPs - including AOL, AT&T and time Warner - have already signed Cuomo's pact.
In theory, the agreements sound beneficial, but might not be enough, since data collected by the Association of Sites Against Child Pornography and verified by other organizations shows 90 percent of all commercial child pornography sites are distributed by organized crime syndicates in Eastern Bloc countries. Another 5 percent come from Japan and the remaining 5 percent come from the rest of the world.
