It really is sad to see a solid theme sacrificed to underdeveloped characterizations and plot. But Wolfboy insists on falling into this trap.

Four guys (Davis, Lambert, King, Windsor) on a survival training expedition into the woods are told by their instructor (Strong) about the legend of a boy (Lowe) raised by the wolves and endowed with the power to control the mind of anyone unfit for survival. Unfortunately, most of the plot has nothing to do with the legend; Lowe participates in only one scene (with Davis), and the rest of the action involves predictable encounters among the other members of the expedition.

And what Davis learns from his encounter -- "We should try to get along better" -- doesn't seem to have a lot of relevance to anything that has happened. But Davis and Lowe are both quite good in their respective roles, and their encounter is well worth viewing. Too bad the director took the easy way out.
