You know you are going to get two things from an AVG "Back Alley" production -- generally attractive young guys and minimal production values. Yes, we're talking an army cot and a black plastic tarp taped to the wall in the first scene. Welcome to the Joseph P. Burns steaming theater of unsightly perspiration. The man definitely has an eye for casting, but not for grooming. It took me two viewings to even recognize the lovely and, here, scruffy Jason Cruise. This is a shame, since some cast members seem to give eager performances -- particularly coverguy Johnny Casio, the very white "Shannon," and this two high-contrast black buddies Rick Brown and Mitch Green.
