Chambermaids Want Hotel Porn Cleaned Up

First a Swedish politician who's also a porn actor gets purged from his party over his side profession. Now some Swedish chambermaids say they need to be protected from overheated men who've just watched porn films in their rooms. The members of the Swedish Hotel Workers Federation want alarms to use in case of attack. "Chambermaids are always having to come face-to-face with overexcited guests watching porn movies," they tell Reuters. They also want the maids to be allowed to work in pairs - as is becoming a more frequent practice in other hotels. Not to mention what they call a slightly disgusting side effect: "We have to dry off sticky television screens and clean stained sheets, as well as picking up used tissues thrown under beds," they tell the news wire. All this in the wake of Swedish Equality Minister Margareta Winberg calling for politicians to boycott hotels where porn is shown on television. Which might mean them shunning one of their own: you'll recall AVN On The Net reporting last week on a Swedish politician being purged from the Left Party because of his part-time job - as a porn actor.

LANSING, Mich. - The speaker of the state House here is finding out the hard way what happens when you buy a gag gift for a bachelor's party at a sex novelty shop - and your party just so happens to be trying to pass legislation to regulate the sex business a little more tightly. Kalamazoo Republican Charles Perricone has disclosed buying such a novelty after pornographers looking to kill the legislation uncovered the six-year-old purchase. The legislation in question would block adult businesses from operating after 2 a.m. Sundays and holidays, require licensing and criminal background checks of adult business owners, restricted interior designs and no sealed-off rooms. Perricone says adult clubs are using private investigators to learn whether lawmakers had ever visited adult businesses, and one such investigator unearthed the credit card receipt showing his purchase. He wants state police to probe possible extortion. "If these people want to come after me because I visited a novelty shop for a bachelor party, I'll take them on," he tells the Detroit Free Press. "But we are not going to stop this package of bills just because someone has decided they're going to extort me or anyone in this process." An attorney for an adult club group refused to confirm the club owners hired private investigators, but he did tell the Free Press they'd bring forth any evidence germane to the legislation in question - whether or not it embarrasses any lawmakers.

TORONTO - Did an online franchise operation scam over a hundred investors with fake promises of porn site profits? Inquiring Toronto police minds want to know. They want to know if 30 area investors who came forward were scammed out of about $12,000 each, and they're searching for several men who ran the Internet Commerce Underwriters Association. The investors were allegedly guaranteed $1,000 a week in earnings from members who'd pay $15 apiece to see hardcore porn images. One of the alleged victims told the Toronto Sun on condition of anonymity investors were promised even more income from sales of porn DVDs and sex toys. Police are also probing whether the imagery in question was stolen from other porn sites to the ICUA's Web site.
