LOS ANGELES - Legendary gay performer, director, producer, DJ and raconteur
Chi Chi LaRue will make several personal appearances in Las Vegas in January, kicking off a new year that promises to be equally as busy for his production company,
Channel 1 Releasing.
First on the schedule is an autograph session during the
GAYVN Expo, slated for Jan. 9-12 in Las Vegas. LaRue will appear from 1-5 p.m. Jan. 10 at C1R's booth on the show floor to sign autographs, take photos with fans and generally create the kind of stir for which the larger-than-life drag queen is deliciously famous. The booth (No. 8055) won't be difficult to find: It will be at the entrance to the GAYVN section of the
AVN Adult Entertainment Expo.
In addition to "face time" with LaRue, C1R also will be giving away point-of-purchase promotional items. Retailers who pre-purchase the new
Rascal Video Excess will receive an 18-inch round floor decal emblazoned with LaRue's likeness. Other promotional freebies include a
Catalina Video poster featuring pre-condom classics, a poster promoting
Excess and newly designed shelf talkers. An ad on page 13 of
January's GAYVN magazine explains the details.
During the expo, C1R will be showcasing the work of its subsidiaries Catalina Video, All Worlds, Dirk Yates Collection and Rascal Video. Of particular interest are a number of recently reissued pre-condom classics from the Catalina vaults:
Leo Lance, Sailor in the Wild and the 20th-anniversary editions of
Big Guns and
Powertool are a few examples.
LaRue also will be making a special appearance at the
2008 AVN Awards at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on Jan. 12 and will be the featured VIP room DJ at the
HustlaBall on Jan. 11 at Club Krave.
"I'm so excited about going to Las Vegas this year," LaRue said. "Not only because it's one of my favorite cities to let my hair down and go wild in, but also because there are so many new and exciting things going on at Channel 1 Releasing that I'm dying for people to see during the expo - like my upcoming deliciously sexy film
Excess. It's beyond hot."
